Product design deals with the objects around us. Product designers will design furniture, consumer goods, vehicles and packaging for example, as well as robots and smart devices. During the studies, great attention has been paid to human-centered design, where solutions are created according to the needs of users. Product designers are creative problem solvers with good empathy and technical knowledge.

At Lund University School of Industrial Design (LUSID), they are focused on allowing students to shape themselves as designers. They encourage professional collaboration, pushing the boundaries of design and questioning society to effect change. With their position in Scandinavia, international focus and expansive facilities, they have the unique ability to allow students a platform to study remote areas in the field of design. From social activism to new material experimentation, they want to encourage their students to develop creativity and personality to become influential within – and beyond – the field of design.

Graduates of this field of study will have an in-depth knowledge of the structure, indicators and functions of appropriate IT systems (computer and telecommunications networks, Internet, databases etc). Kräftwärk is an Estonian micro brewery. The goal of Kräftwärk is to show that brewing beer is an art and a lifestyle. Malt and hops are as important as paints and canvas for an artist, they take great care to ensure that their beers are made from high-quality raw ingredients. The passion and quality contained in each of their bottles is reflected also on the labels, bringing Estonian high art from galleries into the daily lives of their customers – because art belongs to the people.

I had a great honour to learn how these information systems work and I wrote my diploma based on the information I received.

After taking time off from school, I had to deal with different things. I did a bit of programming, made some custom furniture. I worked for a company that makes beds and mattresses. I learned many new woodworking skills such as painting, staining, varnishing. And at the same time I graduated the Estonian Information Technology College in 2005.
